Hotel Landing

UPDATE: After posting this review, the manager reached out to understand my concerns and apologized for my poor experience. She is sending me a gift card so that I can try out their hotel at a later date. I'm updating this review from a one-star to a three-star. I appreciate them taking responsibility for what happened. I was rudely ran out of the coffee shop area at 5:45am because the manager on duty didn’t want me sitting in there as I was quietly working on emails. No sweet spirit. No kind word. I would never allow someone like that to work for me. The beds are also very uncomfortable. I was waking up every 30-45 minutes. I see other reviews state the same thing about this hotel. Overall, way overpriced for what you get—this isn’t NYC. And for $500/night I’d expect a little courtesy and consideration, especially from someone in a leadership position. Great stay, I loved the location and the hotel is beautiful. Rooms are nicely done and decent size. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and the location is A plus. The only draw back was that the AC in the room is very loud, it wasn’t crazy disruptive but the room I stayed 425 was rather loud, that being said I never complained about it to the front desk. Other than that it was a great two night stay. Staff was very friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant that is part of the hotle is really good, had lunch two there. Overall a very nice stay!

I was impressed with the amenities and overall ambiance of this hotel. However, our room was not cleaned to the caliber you would expect for such a high end hotel. I alerted the front desk that the trash had not been emptied from the previous visitors and there was extra trash (just barely visible) under one of the beds. All they said was that they would let housekeeping know. I would not be as upset about that if it was a standard hotel, but I would hope that a hotel of this caliber to clean the rooms with more attention to detail.

The place definitely has a monopoly on the location of downtown Wayzata. As for calling itself a boutique hotel, they still have some convincing to do for $300 a night. Service was impeccable, everyone was always willing to help and get you what you needed, and they did have some included amenities like a bike to borrow and a fitness room. The coffee shop in the lobby was anticlimactic. They did have a nespresso machine in each room which was great, but including some cream or a little pitcher of milk and a frother would have been great instead of getting an espresso shot to start the day. Rooms: the beds were comfortable, but our curtain was missing the stick to open and close, some of the outlet covers were installed upside down, and there was no fan in the bathrooms. The dual rainfall showerhead was fantastic though!
